FOUND: Steve Madden lace-up colored zipper boots

I’ve been seeing these Steve Madden boots everywhere. They have a blue or red zipper in the back (like a lot of other Steve Madden styles) and they lace-up. Some have flannel on the inside, some have wool, and others even have a cool navajo print, though I haven’t been able to find those for sale online. I did find them on Nordstrom’s website and a brown pair on Endless.

And just because it’s almost Friday… you ready boots? Keep walkin’.

…keep truthin’.

HUNTED: Patchwork ruffle applique coat

  1. I’m gonna second the vote that this might very well be a vintage jacket, but it could also be some new-agey remake, the jury is still out.

What do you think? Can you find Liat a similar product? Do tell in the comments.

  3. @Rtennenb is looking for some advice. Leather jackets are a staple and should be purchased to last a few years, so $200 is a healthy price point to start your hunting. The above suggestion from @APartow is a good one.
If you are looking for a new jacket you might also have luck with faux-leather options. (For you vegans, try out this cute leather jacket from Free People available at Piperlime. If you want the real-deal you should keep your eyes peeled for sales. Since it’s spring, lots of retailers will have discounts on outerwear going on right now. I scored my leather jacket made by Bernardo (retail $600) for $200 bucks at Loehmann’s four years ago. It’s held up very well.
ASOS has some great options (plus guilt-free shopping with free two-way shipping) including this classic. Can’t go wrong. And… even though this one is greyand not black, I have to throw it in.

Neiman Marcus turned up this great Joe’s Jean shearling-lined jacket on sale. And this is a really clean streamlined shape, though it’s not cropped.

It’s never a mistake to check out vintage stores, especially if you’re in New York. Leather should stand the test of time, so you know a well-worn leather jacket  at a vintage store it will last years to come. I do not recommend buying used leather unless you can try it on or return it. Leather stretches to fit your body and you don’t want to be stuck with something that isn’t perfect when you’re making an investment.

And whether you buy vintage or new, make sure your leather is properly cared for (I use saddle soap on mine once a year).
Have any other suggestions? Tell us in the comments.

  2. I love this shoe! And yes… wish I could have seen the man confident enough to pull these off. Does anyone have an idea what brand makes these? They look like Supras, but dare I say, even cooler. I want to score a pair of kicks like these for my man. I’ve been trying to hunt these down for a few days… help me out!
